Upper Kindergarten (UKG)
Welcome to the Upper Kindergarten programme at Sai Shradha Public School, Sibanarayanpur, Oldtown, Keonjhar. Our UKG programme focuses on strengthening children's foundational knowledge and preparing them for primary school education.
Children develop early reading, writing, number recognition and communication skills through interactive lessons, creative tasks and meaningful classroom activities.
UKG Programme Description
The Upper Kindergarten programme builds upon the learning foundation developed in earlier classes. Children strengthen their understanding of letters, words, numbers and basic mathematical concepts through structured and engaging activities.
The programme encourages early reading and writing, counting, logical thinking, storytelling, creative expression and classroom participation. Children also develop confidence, independence and the ability to follow everyday learning routines.
Academic Readiness
Children practise reading readiness, writing, alphabet recognition, word formation, number recognition, counting and basic mathematical concepts to prepare for primary education.
Confidence & Skills
Classroom activities encourage communication, independent thinking, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and confidence in expressing ideas and participating in learning.
What Children Will Learn
The UKG programme helps children develop the foundational academic and personal skills needed for a smooth transition into Class 1. Learning combines classroom instruction with interactive and creative experiences.
Children practise reading simple words, writing letters, recognising numbers, counting, understanding basic mathematical concepts and expressing themselves through stories, rhymes and creative activities.
